About the location

Close to Limoges airport where your hosts will be waiting for you, is the lovely village of St-Sebastian, where your guest home awaits in the heart of France.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, trails, rivers, and medieval villages, it is easy to see why Claude Monet, Armand Guillaumin, Alfred Smith, Francis Picabia, and Henri Pailler all chose this region steeped in natural diversity and beauty as their focal point for so many pieces we have come to know and love today.

Marked trails lead all around the vast outdoors around you, where you can take off and explore whenever you have the time or need the inspiration. With the Creuse and Sedelle rivers and a private lake to welcome you nearby, it is difficult not to find yourself at peace, working at the pace you need.

Your art tutor, Glyn, has been an artist for years, hailing from Yorkshire, then using St. Ives as his art base, and finally settling in the Creuse region, which keep his artistic mind heightened with new discoveries. His patience, humour, and insider’s secrets will have you leaving with new skills and techniques after just one week.

Your hosts, Clare and Peter, have made their home in St-Sebastian for many years now, and truly relish in helping you maximize your experience while you’re with them. Always there to help, and with Clare’s bountiful homemade French meals, you will discover first hand the quality of hosting in this warm region.

Your accommodation will be in either 1 of 2 guest houses, located next to each other, each sharing a gorgeous, peaceful communal area consisting of a grand pool, hot tub, outdoor eating terrace, and gardens. At the end of the day, after a day of learning, painting, sketching, and taking in the natural wonders of the area, you can fall into your cosy bed for a great night’s sleep before welcoming a new day with new sights and challenges.

Get ready to escape the city and tune into your inner Monet while learning how to vastly improve your techniques and skills on this unique Art holiday in the heart of France, with 4 course meals, lush rural locations, and new friends to be made along the way.
